- Select “View Profile” and enter a memorable 10-digit “Alt ID”. We recommend using your mobile telephone number, but you may use any 10-digit number not already in use that doesn’t start with a zero. Your Alt ID will serve as your virtual card number both online and in-store.
- Select the “Community Rewards” tab on the left side of your screen.
- Enter “chess” or “SJ686” into the search bar.
- Verify that the search result is as shown and select “Enroll”.

FAQ: Digital Accounts
If you’ve ever used Kroger’s pickup service (formerly “ClickList”), then you used your digital account to do so.
(You might have a digital account even if you’ve never used Kroger’s pickup service, but since that service can only be used with a digital account, you can be certain you have a digital account if you’ve ever used it.)
With a digital account, you can…
- Save time and money with digital coupons.
- Order your groceries online.
- Sign up to receive Kroger email, the weekly circular, personalized offers, special promotions, and the monthly newsletter.
- View fuel points and annual savings.
- Create and maintain a shopping list.
- Manage your prescriptions.
To create your digital account, you need an email address and your Kroger Plus Shopper’s Card number (if you have one).
If you don’t have a Kroger Plus Shopper’s Card number, you can generate a virtual card number and set a custom alternate ID number instantly online.

In fact, the Kroger Community Rewards program is tied to the same Kroger Plus Shopper Card that gives you access to special reduced prices.
Kroger benefits by being able to deduct program distributions from their federal income taxes as charitable contributions.

In fact, the Kroger Community Rewards program is tied to the same Kroger Plus Shopper’s Card that gives you access to Kroger’s advertised sale prices.
What Kroger distributes to registered 501(c)(3) organizations through their Kroger Community Rewards program is deductible from Kroger’s federal income taxes as charitable contributions.
You must present your Kroger Plus Shopper’s Card or provide your Alternate ID at the register during the transaction in order for it to count toward the program.*
(You probably already do this because this is also how all of Kroger’s discounts and fuel points are applied.)
*If you’re ordering online for pickup, all of your discounts and fuel points and community rewards will automatically be applied using the information linked to your digital account.
Not at all! In fact, we highly recommend using your mobile telephone number as a 10-digit Alt ID. (Reference “How do I create a virtual card number?” in the “FAQ: Digital Accounts” section above.) Then all you need to do is punch that number into the card reader at the register. It’s that easy!
Anything not specifically excluded qualifies as an “Eligible Purchase”. (See the list of exclusions in “Is there anything that doesn’t count toward the program?”)
